Power & Voltage Regulators

The single most common robotic-arm failure is powering the servos from the Arduino’s 5V pin: under load they sag the voltage and reset your board. The fix is a separate supply stepped to 5–6V with a buck converter like the LM2596. Pair one with a 2–5A DC adapter or battery, set the output voltage, and feed it straight to the servo driver’s power terminal — never through the microcontroller.
