Why we recommend it
Pairing a NEMA 17 stepper with a T8 lead screw is the classic DIY linear actuator, borrowed straight from the Z axis of a 3D printer. It gives a SCARA arm its vertical travel, drives a long-stroke gripper, or lifts a tool with very fine, repeatable steps, and a lead screw will not back-drive when the motor stops. This kit has the parts that are easy to forget: the brass nut, two KP08 pillow-block bearings to support the screw, and a flexible coupler for a 5mm motor shaft to the 8mm screw. Check the coupler bore against your motor shaft before ordering.
