The SG90 is the servo almost every beginner robotic arm starts with: tiny, light, and happy running straight from a 5V rail through a PCA9685 driver. Its plastic gears and roughly 1.8 kg·cm of torque are not enough for the shoulder of a full-size arm, but they are exactly right for small 4-DOF desk arms like the MeArm, cardboard builds, grippers and wrist joints where low mass matters more than strength. A ten-pack covers a complete small arm plus spares — useful, because plastic-gear servos are the first thing to strip when a joint is over-driven. When you outgrow them, the metal-gear MG90S is a drop-in upgrade with the same footprint.
